Road Royalty #23

Road Royalty #23

When is an RV more than an RV? Over the years, I have concluded that the answer is this: Constantly.

It is a home, a comfort, a means of transit, a safe haven, a movie screen playing an ever-changing American reel. At times it is a source of a pride, a symbol of adventure, a conversation starter, a plot device, an inspiration.

But I have also found it to be… a measuring stick. And I mean that almost literally.

Along a crowded city street or in a suburban neighborhood, a big RV can feel… large. For some reason, a house on wheels conveys an outsized vibe when it’s parked next to an actual house. But next to a massive natural marvel, an RV can seem small. More important, it can be a means of truly appreciating the scope of the wonder you’re visiting.

I have photos of a 30-something foot RV in front of Utah’s grand sandstone arches and amid New Mexico’s sprawling White Sands and alongside South Dakota’s far-reaching Badlands and in the foreground of Montana’s snow-capped peaks. Always, it generates an appreciation for comparative size. And it makes for a great picture.

So here’s another installment of Road Royalty – the RV in Redwood National Park.

Reel Road Trips

Reel Road Trips

With the Academy Awards now in our rearview mirror, I offer a trivia question: What do Robert DeNiro, Jack Nicholson, Robin Williams and Albert Brooks have in common?

Answer: They’ve all driven RVs, of course.

Hollywood has a long history of making motor homes and trailers part of the silver screen story – from Lucy and Desi in “The Long, Long Trailer” to Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl in “The Incredibles.” There have been comedies (“Borat”), thrillers (“2012”), dramas (“What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?”), even a whole bunch of horror films with titles like “Dead and Breakfast” and “Troll 2.”

Why the RV? Well, maybe it’s because it offers an opportunity for dramatic setting – and an ever-changing one at that. That’s the whole point. The massive windshield is like a camera lens pointed at the nation’s most remarkable scenery. The driver is the cinematographer, who also gets to be the star.

Perhaps it’s because the vehicle becomes so integral to the journey that it becomes a character itself. It is more than a means to an end. It’s a carefully chosen means, selected or adapted to fully realize the road trip experience. In that sense, RVers are a bit like casting directors. Even if you think of it as just another way to move the plot – and the stars of the film – from Point A to Point B, it’s a heck of a good plot device.

So RVs have a long and varied film career. They have even played bit parts in movies ranging from “Rambo” to “The Jerk.” But in many films, a house on wheels has played a more significant role. In fact, here is a list of 100 movies featuring houses on wheels:

Have You Missed Us?

Hey everybody!

We know you haven’t heard from The Happy Campers in a while, but we’ve been hunkered down in Florida escaping the cold and the snow.  We know it was a mild winter, and trust us, we’re very happy about that because it kept our average temperature between 70-80 degrees down here.  Yeah, it’s been a real hardship!! We’re heading North soon, so we figured this was a good opportunity to give a quick update on what we’ve been up to.

First, a friend of ours had these awesome 98 square feet t-shirts made for us!  They are so adorable, and if you look closely (or enlarge the picture), we're in the windows on the shirt with pigtails....so cute!  Thanks JK - we LOVE them!

Going back a while - we had a lovely holiday season – spending it right on the Atlantic Ocean in Palm Coast (just north of Daytona).  We managed to cook up a 5 course meal and a delicious turkey on our tiny grill for Thanksgiving.   Seriously, it was delicious and we think we’ll make turkey like that every year!!

Yes, this tiny grill made a
very yummy turkey!

For Christmas and New Year’s we enjoyed sunny skies and an amazing sunrise to start 2012!  We’re not sure anything can top 2011, but it sure was a great way to start off the New Year!

Jan 1, 2012
Sunrise from our camper

We toured through Daytona a few times – honestly, it’s nothing to write home about.  It’s a bit run down, but it was cool to see the Daytona Speedway and take a drive on the beach!

Little Miss Jeep
on the beach!

For the months of January - March, we moved to a campground in central Florida.   We decided the price was right (ie: cheap!), and it would allow us to focus on whipping ourselves into shape and working on a plan for our next adventure.  So honestly, our lives haven’t been overly exciting!  We actually fell into a little monotonous routine which played out kinda like this:

Monday:  Bachelor night and texting with Bobbie Lu.  Yes, we had many good laughs on Mondays while killing off brain cells watching Ben and Courtney find true love!  Sample text messages went something like this:
A&T:  “Not sure how we recall anything given our brain cell reduction”
Bobbie Lu:  “I have to speak intelligently tomorrow.  Not sure I can pull that off after 3 hours of this shit”
A&T: “Courtney basically lied through her teeth about the other girls”
Bobbie Lu: “She did lie. It’s all for drama.  All I know is I want to go to Switzerland.  Damn”
A&T: “I know, doesn’t it look amazing?  We have no brain cells left”
Bobbie Lu: “We will never get this time of our life back.  IQ dropping rapidly”
Oh dear lord, Mondays have never been so entertaining!  Thanks, Bobbie Lu, for filling our Monday nights with so much laughter these past couple of months!  But please don’t make us watch The Bachelorette!

Yes, we even text messaged each other tabloid
pictures while out shopping!  Major Dorks!

Tuesday:  Tracy plays Bingo!  Yes, Bingo.  And I won $92 one night!  Woot woot!  But the best part was the giant Armadillo that jumped out and scared me to death on the walk back to the camper!  Yes, good times, good times!

Yes, proof of the winnings,
but wish I had a shot of
the Armadillo

Wednesday:  It’s Soup day!  Yes, we all converge in the Club House at noon to eat homemade soup. Yummy!

We didn't have a soup picture, but here's
a shot of our ice cream social - pretty
much the same!

Thursday:  Amy goes to Crafting Club!  She’s made a bunch of great things and started her Etsy Store.  You can check out her stuff using the link below!

Amy's Store - Chapter Two Creations

Friday:  Library on Wheels shows up!  This rocks!  We’ve checked out so many books, movies, magazines, music, etc.  And it’s all free.  It’s been awesome!  We wish we could bring it with us!

Such a great perk!

Saturday:  After all the weeks’ excitement, it’s time to hit the pool and relax!

Working on our tans!

Sunday:  While everyone seems to scoot off to church, we do our interval training workout on the grand lawn and crank our music!  We’re sure they think we’re nuts! (That's ok, we're fairly confident they are, too) Or we hit the gym and pump the iron!  Ok, we do this more than just Sundays, but it's the best day to actually see people our own age!

Tracy's personal best to date
35lb weights! Go baby!

Ok, so we certainly have done more than just the above, but we thought it would be fun to give you a flavor of what happens when you hole up with the Snow Birds (ie: elders) down here in Florida at an RV Park out in the sticks!  Some other exciting things have been:

A giant Rat Snake crawled up the tree just outside our camper – we didn’t like that so much!

The yucky snake!

We hosted a Happy Hour and shared scrumptious Jelly Shots with all our new friends!  Yes, seniors can put some jelly shots away!

Ok, we forgot to take a pic of
the actual shots, but we
got the shot of the alcohol

There are LOTS of dogs, but our two favorites have been Charlie and Bonnie - so cute!

Charlie
So adorable and comes by for
chicken at night! Spoiled!!

Bonnie
Only a face a mother could love -
along with Amy!

Amy’s parents came down and spent February at The Villages – which is a massive golf cart retirement community.  Everyone drives really cool looking golf carts around.  Amy is convinced we’re buying a retirement home there the second I turn 55!  It’s very neat, but WAY too hot to be here in the summer!

Happy Hour in the Square with
Wil and Joyce
One of the cool golf carts
that cruises the Villages!

We discovered (and are addicted to) a show called “Storage Wars” where people buy abandoned storage units.  There’s a good chance we may just take our own Storage unit and sell it to the highest bidder when we get home in April!! Yuuuuuup!

So much fun to watch these people try to screw each other!

And best of all, we landed an amazing Work Kamp gig on Cape Cod this summer!  We’re super excited to spend the summer in New England, and we certainly can’t complain about being on Cape Cod!!  Hopefully we'll have some visitors (hint, hint friends & family) and can take in some Sox games!

Cape Camp or bust...check it out!

I think there’s only one additional thing, as we mentioned, we’ll be in Maine for the month of April.  We’re leaving the warm weather behind (and the annoying caterpillars that make you itch like hell if they touch you) and heading home to tie up some loose ends and visit with friends and family before having to report to the Cape on May 1!   We look forward to seeing many of you very soon!

This is our annoying Caterpillar
Besides being our Bachelor Buddy, Bobbie Lu
has also been our animal consultant. She
identified it as a Tussock Moth Caterpillar.
Then she told us to get the hell outta here and get home!
Ok, Bobbie - we're coming!!

Until the next exit…

10 Movie Characters You’d Love to Go RVing With

10 Movie Characters You’d Love to Go RVing With

by CarInsuranceQuotes.net Staff Writer on March 16, 2012

Imagine sharing an RV with Clark Griswold, Del Griffith, John Rambo, and a young Che Guevara while traveling across country. Sound appealing? It might for a generation who grew up on Vacation, Plans, Trains & Automobiles, First Blood, and The Motorcycle Diaries, and daydreamed about participating in shows like Road Rules and The Real World. Sure, the characters may stop being polite, but hey, things will never start getting real because, well, this is just a fantasy. Here are 10 movie characters (11, actually), provided they'd all fit into an RV, with whom we would like to imagine going on a long, strange trip.

The Driver, Drive

He isn't much of a talker and he doesn't have the most effervescent personality, but he is a real hero and a real human being. More importantly, he loves to do one thing — drive. Highly skilled at his craft, he could evade an overzealous state trooper in any condition, even in a 12,000-pound vehicle. He's intensely focused, and certainly isn't afraid to ignore the speed limit if it means reaching his destination in a quick manner.

John Rambo, First Blood

Again, not the most effervescent personality, but you need someone to deal with potential road rage incidents when your driver is as aggressive as The Driver. Plus, if you're ever stranded in the middle of nowhere, John will have all the tools necessary for survival and will undoubtedly protect you and your group from cops intent on throwing a motley group of out-of-towners in jail.

Clark Griswold, Vacation

Every cross country excursion needs a leader, and Clark has been the architect of multiple vacation adventures. He'd be a good addition not because he's a particularly good manager, but because chaos always seems to find him. You'll be sure to remember a trip in which you endure gunshots, a gnarly trip through the ghetto, and money-hungry hillbillies.

Ernesto Guevara, The Motorcycle Diaries

Depending on your personal political philosophy, you may think of Che Guevara as a murderous thug, or you may think of him as a hero. Regardless, based on Motorcycle Diaries, you can deduct that he makes an awesome travel companion. As an ambitious, fun-seeking youth, he traversed Latin America and developed his Marxist beliefs along the way as he witnessed the large division between the "haves" and "have nots." Executive producer Paul Webster compared this version of Guevara to Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady, who are certainly more fun than your stereotypical militant revolutionary.

Chris McCandless (aka Alexander Supertramp), Into the Wild

Yes, it's based on a true story. And no, it didn't end well for Chris. But you have to admire his adventurous spirit and self-sufficiency, which was impressive for a recent college graduate who grew up in the D.C. burbs. Inspired by writers such as Kerouac, Chris embarked on a journey to Alaska and spiritual realization, escaping the monotony of so-called responsibility and adulthood, things we'd certainly be avoiding on this trip.

Christina, Vicky Christina Barcelona

Forget, Vicky. Let's invite Christina, the free-spirited, more spontaneous of the pair of friends who spent a summer in Barcelona. Her consent to joining a polyamorous relationship with the Spaniard with whom she and Vicky had trysts would probably go over well in an RV full of men, whom she'd hopefully be able to corral. Her best trait is that she's a good friend, as evidenced by her acceptance of Vicki after she admitted to sleeping with the Spaniard when Christina was more interested in pursuing him.

Del Griffith, Plains, Trains & Automobiles

When you're traveling with guys like The Driver, John Rambo, and the perpetually stressed out Clark Griswold, you need genuinely good people who can lighten the mood. Del fits the bill, and his own words to his cold travel companion, Neal Page, in Plains, Trains & Automobiles prove it: "Yeah, you're right, I talk too much. I also listen too much. I could be a cold-hearted cynic like you … but I don't like to hurt people's feelings. Well, you think what you want about me; I'm not changing." And, in the end, even if he isn't the 100% "real article," you'd have a lifelong friend.

Thelma & Louis, Thelma & Louis

If the group plans to head to Mexico, Thelma and Louis can provide the directions — just don't trust them with the group's cash. Both have an axe to grind with truck drivers, so the more aggressive ones who refuse to share the road with an RV will be sorry. But if the group breaks a law or two, watch out, because things can spiral out of control quickly. The last thing you want is for the trip to end at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

Edward Cole, Bucket List

Vacations aren't cheap, especially in RVs — have you seen gas prices lately? Edward, of course, financed an elaborate excursion around the world with his new friend, who was also dying from lung cancer, to accomplish each item on their buckets lists. Their activities included riding motorcycles on the Great Wall of China, seeing the Taj Mahal, and skydiving. While such a trip would be difficult to duplicate in an RV, it should be noted that there are many, many fun and pricy things to experience in the old U.S. of A.

Richard, The Beach

For one, Richard knows how to follow a map, which would come in handy when the outdated GPS system becomes sluggish. He can also kill a mako shark with a harpoon, a skill that would come in handy during those beach stops. And, if any of the travelers were to become severely injured or fall ill, he would have the strength to mercy kill them to end the agony (and get rid of the weak link).

98 square feet surprise visit to Maine!

Monday, November 21, 2011

After 123 days,  28 states and more than 18,000 miles, we returned full circle to Maine for a spontaneous (and surprise) trip!  Only 1 person knew we were coming (excellent secret keeping Bobbie!), so we had a ton of fun popping in on friends and family.  We captured some of the surprises on video to share with you….
The BIG shocker: Amy’s parents thought we were still in Nashville…..however they were expecting a package from us to arrive for Dad’s birthday!  Surprise – we showed up instead!!
Click here to watch video
Amy’s sister-in-law, Julie, definitely didn’t expect us! Click here to watch
And she helped us surprise Connor, our nephew…click here to watch
Roger had no idea it would be us walking through his front door!  Click here to watch...

Dropping in on our friends at Amy's old office....click here to watch video #1 and here for video #2!

TRICK or treat?  One of our biggest surprises was at Kim and Kerry's Halloween party - they most certainly weren't expecting us…..so we came up with costumes we could wear to disguise ourselves – ROBOTS! However, because Amy couldn’t see very well out the tiny robot eyes, the camera was put on the wrong setting & didn’t end up taking video L.  Needless to say, it was a blast to hit the party, dance the robot and have people try to figure out who we were until we whipped off the costumes!  Such a fun night!!

Amy & Kim (aka Dorothy)
Kerry (aka Wicked Witch)
and Tracy

It got a little crazy - who is who?
Joy, Kristan & Bobbie

We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate our friends (and former neighbors) Greg & Michelle on the arrival of their new little bundle – Lizzie Isabella!!  Watch as we visit them and see our old house for the first time since the day we closed on it!

Tracy's a natural (when Lizzie's sleeping)

A visit with Aunt Bunny

The Friday night gang! Love them!!
Dave, Jenny, Keith, A &T, Kristin
Not a complete trip without a visit
to Norm's with Eric!  Hope that
hematoma is better, hon!

Aww, my little Koo Koo was happy
to see us!  Such a precious kitty that
we miss very much!
Uh, yeah, it snowed in October
Definitely a WTF moment and a
reminder of why we're on our way to FL

Besties - Amy and Amy
Dewey's!!
Couldn't go without a basket
of popcorn and an ice cold brew

Perfect ending to the trip - dinner at
Goucho's with Amy's Mom & Dad!

We were also very excited to see Connor's championship football game while we were home!  So proud of him....AND of my brother, Jon (the coach)!!  After a season of not allowing a single point to be scored against them, they won in OT!  Click here to watch the winning moment....

Connor hits the field
The Sirois family there to cheer
on Jon & Connor in the finals

And last, but not least, Over 5 months ago, we sold many of our possessions and put a lock on a storage facility that houses everything else that didn’t fit in our 98 square feet baby and set out for life on the road……dreading the day we would have to go back and deal with ALL that stuff!  Well, we briefly visited it while we were home…..and yup, still dreading that EVENTUAL day!  Watch the video and you’ll know why!

OMG - we didn't know whether to
laugh or cry!

Despite extending our stay to watch Connor’s game (postponed b/c of SNOW the weekend before), we sadly still weren’t able to see EVERYONE we wanted to!  But it was wonderful seeing those of you we did get to spend time with and hope you will continue to follow our travels as we migrate south for the winter!!
Until the next exit…

98 square feet "Nashville rocks lets move there!"

by mpucalik 29. November 2011 17:37

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

"Country music is the people's music. It just speaks about real life and about truth and it tells things how they really are."  Faith Hill
With Tracy at the wheel, I thought I would take a moment to share our Nashville experience with “y’all”!
Growing up to the voices of Kenny Rogers, Alabama, Barbara Mandrell and Dolly Parton, my true passion for country music didn’t actually kick in until high school when I heard the sweet sound of Trisha Yearwood. My appreciation only deepened as I found the likes of Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Suzy Bogguss, Reba McEntire and some historical greats like Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash.  Yup, I'm proud to say that I liked country before country was "cool"!  Songs by Faith Hill, The Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain monopolized my disc-man as Taylor Swift does with the ipods of today.  And speaking of today – Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton  - I could fill this entire blog with the names of artists I adore in this amazing genre of music.  So, needless to say, when Tracy and I decided to go on our big adventure there was no doubt in my mind that we had to visit NASHVILLE!
Coming off our recent disappointment in Austin, we were a bit worried that Nashville would also fail to live up to our expectations.  A worry that was very short lived however….as it quickly earned residence on our favorite cities list!  Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer and see more...
The biggest attraction to this city is obviously MUSIC!!  Like 2 kids on Christmas morning, we couldn’t even wait for the sun to go down before hitting the town!  Bouncing from bar to bar all over the city, we were in our glory with live music at every stop.  We also hit some great places off the beaten track during our visit, including Musician’s Corner - a weekly outdoor concert in Centennial Park.
We didn’t get nearly as many photos as we would have liked….guess we were just too captivated to pull the camera out!  But here are a handful...

Nashville is one of our top "picks"

Too funny - just sitting outside of Tootsie's on their "ride"

Mechanical Bull inside - yes, we regret not riding it!

Amy still hasn't danced on the bar despite
us going to several Coyote Ugly's
How can we entice her to do this??

Some great local talent at
The Listening Room
(cool venue, too!)

This chic was 16...crazy!  And she came with a
full entourage of people!

Music in Centennial Park on Saturdays
Safe to say, I think we would be there every Saturday
This kid was an American Idol cast off

More music in the Park - so neat to watch all the
drummers play random acoustics like wash boards
for percussion

Rockin the house at Tootsie's
Tiny little bar, packed with people...so much fun!

Amy's hoping to come back to
town and land a job at CMT

As usual, we're a bit behind on our blogging - so next up (very soon), is our surprise visit to Maine.  We have lots of great video to share - and most likely, many of our readers will be IN those videos!

In the meantime, we've been enjoying the South and have found a new favorite in Charleston, SC which we'll also share with you soon.

Until the next exit...

Texas is BIG

Hey everybody!  Yet again, the Happy Campers have fallen a bit behind on their blogging.  But, we have a really good reason - we made a SURPRISE visit to Maine and have been so busy cramming friend and family visits in that blogging took a back seat.  That's probably not a very good excuse, but we're going with it anyway.  So here's what we did after we left amazing New Mexico.

Austin, TX
We drove, and drove, and drove, and drove (you get the picture!) to Austin where we were super excited to check out 6th street and lots of live music.  Well, hate to disappoint, but we were disappointed!  Maybe it's because we aren't 20 anymore, but it just didn't meet our expectations.  Here are our highlights:

Hangar Lounge in the Warehouse District - OMG, the BEST salsa ever with nicely poured cocktails!  Very cool multi-level club with an outdoor bar on the roof which provided excellent views of downtown Austin.  Apparently we were all too excited about the salsa because we failed to take any pictures here....but we've borrowed one from their website to show you this uber chic hangout!

Fado Irish Pub - Sometimes when traveling, you happen upon unexpected little gems.  This was the case with Fado's.  We were walking up and down the streets of Austin checking out various restaurants and clubs that had been recommended to us when a little outdoor irish pub caught our eye.  Per Tracy's vote - they had the BEST Fish Tacos ever!  Fado's earned two thumbs up on food, atmosphere & live music!!  Looks like the photographer was once again sleeping on the job though.....because somehow we don't have any pics of this stop either!!

Congress Street Bridge - Bats - Bats - Bats....it was one of the craziest things we've ever seen.  These bats sleep under the bridge all day and then fly off into the night at dusk as a crowd stands by to witness the eerie sight.  Please, do yourself a favor and watch the video.  You will not be disappointed.

Watch the Bats take flight

Hard to capture in a photo - but there was an endless
stream that came out from beneath us on the bridge!
Amy watches th bats from
the bridge

The Salt Lick - Voted best restaurant in the Austin area, we drove to what seemed like the middle of nowhere to find this massive winery/bar/BBQ place.  Our mouths watered as we walked in and ordered 2 giant plates of meat - ribs, brisket, turkey, sausage.....I think the waiter was a bit shocked at how much food 2 chicks could put away!  T ended up loving it - the sauce was amazing.  Amy was a bit disappointed since it wasn't smothered in Smoky BBQ sauce.  But definitely worth the drive if you're in the Austin area!

The Meat!!

Walked in and saw these guys - T thought it was so funny
they had their bucket of PBR.  Turns out - they're from
Boston and came into town for the Texas/Oklahoma game

Barton Springs - Ok, this was pretty cool, although not exactly what we expected.  The spring is a constant 70 degrees and changes itself out daily with 32 million gallons of fresh spring water.  People have been enjoying the abundant waters of Barton Springs for over 10,000 years.

It was like a giant swimming pool only it had moss in it
We weren't sure what to make of it

We wish we had more to report on Austin, but honestly, it appears we mostly just ate!  Big surprise there!

Port Aransas, TX (aka Port A)
After Austin, we decided we needed a "vacation" from our daily sight-seeing so we headed to the gulf coast of Texas and managed to find a nice gem in On The Beach RV Park in Port A, just north of Corpus Christie.  We took a free ferry with 98 square feet in tow and spent 3 beautiful days and nights parked almost right on the beach.  The water was warm, the sun was hot, the cocktails were cold, and relaxation was found very quickly!

I (Tracy) also had one of my favorite laughing moments here...the water was shallow and warm, so we could go pretty far out.  I turned around at one point to see Amy blazing a trail towards shore, her flip flops flew off, her arms were swinging all over, I swear she was actually running ON the water.  Come to find out, she saw a little sting ray....I laughed so hard....only to have the act repeated the next day when a jelly fish swam by me.  FYI - I didn't move, but when I told Amy I just saw a jelly fish, she beelined to shore with limbs a flying!  Wish I had a video to share - it was funny....TWICE!!!

Sunrise in Port A
The view - can't beat it!

Come aboard, matey!
This bird squawks too much!

Cute Sandpipers
Their little legs move so fast!

Our first ferry ride with 98 square feet!

Probably the same jelly fish I saw in the water
washed ashore - Amy decided to save it by rolling
it back into the water using 2 water bottles!

All in all, Texas was BIG....but SMALL on overall enjoyment!  From Port A, we drove, and drove, and drove some more until we hit Nashville, TN....which we'll cover in our next blog.....coming very soon!!

On a sad note, while in Port A, we lost our little Sunny Boy.  Such an amazing kitty who we'll miss very much.  Many thanks to Aunt Cindy for taking such great care of Sunny while we were away.

Forest River, Inc., a leading manufacturer of recreational vehicles based in Elkhart, Indiana, has announced the introduction of FROG – the Forest River Owners Group. FROG is another step in the company’s mission, “to help all our customers enjoy their outdoor activities to the fullest.”

Membership in FROG is available at no cost to owners of Forest River and affiliated brand recreational vehicles, including Coachmen, Dynamax, Palomino, Prime Time, and Shasta.

Forest River notes, however, that FROG is not intended to replace the Coachmen Owners Association (COA), which this year marks its 45th anniversary. COA continues to thrive and to offer trips, rallies, insurance and program discounts to Coachmen owners.

The primary focus of FROG will be on escorted trips and rallies throughout North America. International and regional rallies will bring together members from both the United States and Canada. In addition, escorted trips will enable members to share travel experiences with others who share their interests.

FROG Director Bob Byrne says that the group is another way for the company to show its appreciation to its customers for their trust and their business.

“One thing that sets FROG apart from many other groups is we do not charge dues,” says Byrne. “We want to give our owners more opportunities to enjoy their Forest River products, not to impose costs or time commitments on them. We’ll be offering a variety of activities, trips, rallies, special offers, and more. Members will pay only for those in which they choose to participate. FROG is basically a ‘thank you’ from Forest River to our owners.”
